The Chamber

About

A tall silver house with 4 stained glass windows on one side and 3 glass peep holes to allow the public to view Godiva's chamber

A symbol of peace and sanctuary, Godiva’s future home.

Located in central Coventry, Godiva’s chamber is designed to reflect its location and the Godiva legend.

Looking through the clear glass panels at either end of the house, you will see Godiva's chamber, draped with steel chainmail curtains. The eight stained glass windows will illustrate the history of Coventry over the 1000 years since the first Godiva.

We will be working on the development of Godiva’s House during 2013 with our many business partners in the city and the region who will help us make it happen. Godiva will be presented with her new chamber in summer 2014.

Meet the Creators

Make Architects, led by John Prevc, are designing and creating Godiva's chamber. The aim is that this will be a permanent structure in Coventry, a physical legacy for the City from the project. The eight stained glass panels are designed by Frans Wesselman and tell the history of Coventry over a thousand years.
